Strip Down to your Skivvies

Come on out and help support a local cause in the place that started it all:

Pioneer Square. After the success of last year's event, Comedy Underground and Seattle's Bravest have team up again to present the Underwear in the Square Run, along with new sponsor underU4men.
Here are just a few of the many highlights:

  • Rick Kunkler has agreed to host again. Rick was a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition and about as fun loving as they come.

  • Prizes will be awarded for best Individual and team costumes.

  • The Seattle Pipes and Drums Band is coming back for an encore performance, playing at the start and finish lines.

  • Each participant will receive an event t-shirt, free tickets to an upcoming show at the Comedy Underground, a drink coupon good for a free PBR (to lower inhibitions) and chances to win prizes. Plus there will be food, drink and music.

  • Also, members of Seattle's Bravest men and women have been invited to come out and witness the hilarity. The run is for all skill levels and since it is only a mile and a quarter, all it requires is that you're not too shy. So, come out rain or shine and help out a good cause.

  • All participants must be 18 or older.
  • Only those 21 and over will receive a drink coupon.

  • Run starts at the Comedy Underground
    109 S. Washington St. Seattle, WA 98104

Seattle’s Bravest Charity was created in March 1995 following the deaths of four Seattle Fire Fighters: Lt. Walter Kilgore, Lt. Greg Shoemaker, Fire Fighter Randy Terlicker, and Fire Fighter James Brown, who perished fighting the Pang Warehouse arson fire. Due to overwhelming generosity of the community, over $500,000 was donated to care for the families of the fallen.

Over the years, the charity has helped victims made homeless by fire; donated hundreds of bike helmets to children in need; sponsored little leagues throughout Seattle; contributed to large scale disasters; managed a yearly scholarship fund for children and grandchildren of Seattle Fire Fighters; and created the Catastrophic Fund which is to help fire fighters who are catastrophically injured on the job and will never return to work, and help Seattle Firefighters pay for hospice care.

Seattle’s Bravest Charity has also raised money to build and maintain the Fire Fighter Memorial in Pioneer Square, supports the Walter Kilgore Honor Guard, and sponsors the Seattle Firefighters Pipes and Drum band.

Seattle’s Bravest Charity is run by a volunteer board of seven directors who are all Seattle Fire Fighters. Because we are a volunteer board, our administrative costs are at 2% which means we use 98% of our donations to go directly to those who need them.

Seattle Firefighters Pipes and Drums is a Band dedicated to honoring our Fallen. Membership is comprised of Active, and Retired, Firefighters of the Seattle Fire Department. Our Core Values are proudly displayed publicly, in Gaelic Verse ” Braithreachas, Onoir, Traidisiun ” which translates to “Brotherhood, Honor, Tradition”.
